About ChapterOne Leather
Unwavering in service excellence, we bring quality leather goods that further adds to your elegance and character. All goods are handmade by a sole artisan in the ChapterOne Leather studio located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Proud to have established our roots in Mississauga (the 6th largest city in Canada), we acknowledge that the land on which we gather, and which ChapterOne Leather operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
ChapterOne Leather is grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.

Values
Service Excellence: Adding more value to customers and serving with passion. Service Excellence is deeply rooted in our organizational culture. It is a practice, a philosophy and a way of life.
Respect to Each Other: As an organization established in a country whose greatest strength is a multicultural society, we believe that each person is unique and their diversity is what makes a healthy and vibrant community. As such, we all have the right and the responsibility to foster equal and equitable opportunity. In our multiculturalism, we acknowledge we are settlers of this land which for thousands of years have been inhabited and taken care of by the indigenous peoples of Canada.
Practical Solutions: Offering products that are elegant, full of character and, those that serve a purpose.
Community Service:Â Our business is built with the understanding that we all consume resources from our community, and therefore we wholeheartedly embrace a sense of community service. We acknowledge that businesses adds to the economy and at the same time the social purpose sector balances the economy by enabling some of the most essential services needed in the community.
Strengthen the Land: We contribute to the growth of the ’Canadian economy first.’ In that effort, majority of our materials are sourced from producers and suppliers in Canada with first preference given to Canadian small businesses. We do make purchases from foreign suppliers in the event the specific item or material is either not produced in Canada or it significantly increases the quality of the final product.
We are committed to doing our due diligence to maintain an environmentally-friendly studio. This includes simple practices such as;
- reusing old newspapers and plastic bags to protect the work stations during the leather dyeing process,
- avoiding acrylic and reusing cardboard from household packaging to create templates,
- and energy efficiency in our use of electric and electronic tools and equipment.
